Bucaramanga - "La ciudad bonita"

Albeit the city of Bucaramanga with it’s 600’000 inhabitants is one of Colombias biggest cities, it’s on international level barely recognized. In Bucaramanga you won’t find tourism like in Medellin or Cartagena, although the city has a lot to offer. First, it’s a beautiful and safe city with many beautiful parks and tropical plants.

 

There are many beautiful hikes with amazing views within or very close to the city. Second, there are many activities and excursions to realize from Bucaramanga. The place is famous for paragliding, for the Chicamocha canyon (the second largest canyon worldwide!) and for it’s beautiful historic city center with a nice pedestrian area.

Bucaramanga is the perfect place for your Spanish immersion and to practice the language hands-on - as you will meet many local persons, which makes the experience more authentic.
